Organizer Interview with Gabriela Weisz
What initially drew you to TEDx?
I’ve always believed that visibility is a crucial step toward impact. Many of us have a message we deeply care about. Shaped by our experiences. But having a message isn’t enough; it needs a voice, a platform, and the confidence to carry it forward.
What transformative idea do you hope to share or inspire?
We are conditioned to conform, to blend in, to trade our individuality for acceptance. But the world doesn’t need more replicas…it needs originals. Our uniqueness is our greatest strength. I want to challenge the idea that “fitting in” is the goal. Instead, embracing our differences is where true innovation, creativity, and progress begin.
What does “ideas worth spreading” mean to you personally?
It speaks to a fundamental truth: hope is contagious, and change begins with a single voice. For me, it’s about doing my part in giving a space to voices that inspire, challenge, and empower. Every idea that resonates has the power to shift perspectives and motivate us to take action.
How do you see TEDxParadeplatz contributing to broader societal conversations?
TEDxParadeplatz has the potential to give a stage to voices that might otherwise remain unheard. By offering a stage to leaders, changemakers, and visionaries, we create an impact that extends beyond our immediate community. The mix of ideas from different disciplines: business, science, culture, and social change, fuels meaningful conversations that can influence policies, industries, and mindsets.
What potential impact do you see TEDx having in Heidelberg and beyond?
Heidelberg is already a place of intellectual and entrepreneurial energy, with one of the highest startup densities in Germany. TEDx can serve as a force, attracting investment, fostering innovation, and positioning the city as a center of progressive thought. More than that, it can inspire other cities to share their own intellectual capital and drive collective impact.
What unique value does our local TEDx bring to the community?
It provides a space for connection, inspiration, and dialogue. Heidelberg is a city of thinkers, and TEDx creates a bridge between ideas and action. It encourages people to step forward, share their insights, and collectively shape a future driven by deep, innovative thinking.
